Fuck Depression: A Campaign for Healing

“Fuck Depression: A Campaign for Healing” is a personal mental health campaign focused on honesty, healing, and helping BIPOC young adults access therapy through community-driven support.

For over a year, the idea of the Fuck Depression campaign lived quietly in my mind.

Not as a slogan.
Not as merch.
But as a response.

A response to my own journey through depression, therapy, faith, and healing. A response to the silence that so many people live in when they are struggling. A response to the reality that too many people believe they have to fight depression alone, or worse, that they cannot afford the help they need.

This campaign was never about profit. It was never about building a brand moment. From the beginning, it was meant to be a not-for-profit effort rooted in awareness, honesty, and tangible support for others.

I’m grateful that it’s finally here.

Why “Fuck Depression”

The words themselves make some people uncomfortable. That’s intentional.

Depression should make us uncomfortable. The isolation. The weight. The quiet suffering. The pretending. The pushing through. The moments where you don’t recognize yourself anymore.

The Fuck Depression campaign exists to say out loud what so many people are already fighting internally. It’s not about glorifying pain. It’s about acknowledging it. Naming it. And reminding people that they are not weak for needing help.

Depression does not look the same for everyone. Sometimes it looks like not being able to get out of bed. Sometimes it looks like functioning, creating, and showing up while quietly unraveling. Sometimes it looks like faith without the emotional language to ask for what you truly need.

This campaign exists for all of that.

A Campaign Built on Awareness and Access

At its core, Fuck Depression is an awareness campaign. It’s meant to remind people that:

  • You are not alone in your depression
  • You do not have to fight it by yourself
  • Help exists, even when you think you cannot afford it

That’s why it was important to me that this campaign didn’t just raise awareness, but also created access.

Through this effort, we are helping raise funds to support BIPOC young adults in accessing therapy. Too often, financial barriers keep people from getting the care they need. This campaign is one small way to help bridge that gap.

Partnering with Mallory and The Premiere Benefit & Concert

I’m honored to be partnering with Mallory and The Premiere Benefit & Concert on this campaign.

The Premiere is an annual benefit created and led by Mallory, who has used her birthday as a platform for purpose for nearly nine years. What started as a birthday gathering evolved into a meaningful benefit concert that raises funds and awareness to help send BIPOC young adults to therapy.

Year after year, Mallory has intentionally chosen to turn celebration into impact, creating space for community, music, storytelling, and mental health advocacy. This year, the Fuck Depression campaign is proud to stand alongside that mission.

You can learn more about Mallory and her work at @iammallory on Instagram.

The Premiere Benefit & Concert takes place on January 31st, and tickets are available now.

The Shirts and the Statement

As part of the campaign, we’ve released two t-shirts:

  • The Fuck Depression Tee, for those moments when you need to say it plainly and honestly
  • The Go See the Lady (or the Man) Tee, a softer reminder that therapy, support, and care are acts of strength

These shirts are not about trends. They are conversation starters. They are reminders. They are declarations that mental health matters.

A portion of proceeds from every shirt sold supports the therapy fund connected to The Premiere Benefit & Concert.

How You Can Support

There are several ways to be part of this, and none of them come with pressure.

  • If you feel led, purchase a t-shirt and wear the message
  • If you want to show up in person, buy a ticket and attend The Premiere Benefit & Concert on January 31st
  • If you would like to donate directly, you can reach out via email
  • If you want to be involved, collaborate, or support this idea in another way, we welcome that too

You can email me directly at Slytheclever@gmail.com to inquire about donating, supporting, or participating.

Gratitude and Moving Forward

I’m grateful for the conversations this campaign has already started. I’m grateful for the stories people have shared. I’m grateful for the encouragement, the honesty, and the willingness to engage with something that isn’t always comfortable.

This campaign is proof that when we tell the truth, it resonates.

If you’re struggling, know this: you are not alone.
If you’re healing, keep going.
If you’re supporting, thank you.

And if you’re reading this and wondering whether help exists for you, it does.

Fuck Depression.
