This wasn’t just an event—it was a movement. The Boost Effect was built on the belief that creatives, artists, and entrepreneurs thrive when they have the right support and resources. Designed to bridge the gap in Houston’s entertainment industry, this event brought together rising entrepreneurs and business minds for a powerful fireside chat with a record label executive, sparking insight and inspiration. More than just a conversation, it was a networking hub, a resource-sharing space, and a catalyst for growth.
What started as a passion project quickly became something bigger. I led every aspect of this event, from concept to execution—designing the branding, building sponsorships with Red Bull and Live Nation, creating the marketing plan, running ads and social media, producing content, managing a team of 15 volunteers, and even moderating the event. The name came from a word my friends and I always used—"Boost"—which meant hyping each other up and elevating opportunities. That’s exactly what this event did.
The goal was to create a consistent space where Houston’s talent could build businesses, connect, and gain industry knowledge—without having to leave the city to find it. While the planned series was paused due to COVID, The Boost Effect made a lasting impact. Maybe one day it will return. But for now, it stands as one of my proudest moments—proof that a simple idea can turn into something powerful with the right vision, passion, and execution.
The marketing strategy behind The Boost Effect wasn’t just about promoting an event—it was about starting a movement. Houston is home to incredible talent, but without industry executives or infrastructure, local artists often have to leave the city to find real opportunities. To spark the conversation, I launched a five-week video campaign, using social media to engage the community in an open discussion about what was missing from Houston’s music scene. The response was clear—we needed more industry, more resources, and more connection. That’s where The Boost Effect came in—not just as an event, but as a town hall for change. During the fireside chat, we set up a mic for attendees to ask questions and share insights, turning the event into an interactive forum for progress. The impact was undeniable—captured in a moment where one speaker’s words moved an attendee to tears, leading to an emotional embrace. That moment summed up everything this event was meant to be—a space for inspiration, collaboration, and the foundation of a stronger music industry in Houston.
